Star has announced four new ceramic autochuck turbines for direct replacement in Kavo highspeed handpieces. The bearings are a lubed ceramic type for longer operational life, most ceramic bearings are lube free which permit contaminates to build up in the bearing causing wear on the balls and on the race shorting the life of the bearing, lubrication flushes these contaminates out each time you lube the handpiece. Ceramic bearings are also less prone to damage from the heat during sterilization. Not only are the Star turbines less expensive but the warranty is a full 2 years apposed to Kavo’s 18 months. These Star turbines have the best warranty on the market.
When you send in for repair any of the following Kavo handpieces you will receive two quotes, one with the repair price using an original Kavo turbine and a second price using the Star turbine.
